Austin’s Habibi on Harmon is part of the Uptown Apartments, a mixed-use development located north of the University of Texas campus.  This project is a tenant finish-out of a shell commercial space. The function is to establish a brick-and-mortar expansion of the popular food trailer on 5th Street in downtown Austin.

The design goal is to create a modern habitat for authentic Mediterranean cuisine with a bold interior, utilizing raw materials, a custom furniture package, branded signage, butcher-block style wood counters and sales wraps, coated metal surfaces and translucent wall paneling. The clean, functional design of an enjoyable customer space includes a kitchen, a food preparation room, restrooms and a dining area.

Starting from their popular food trailer on 5th Street, Austin’s Habibi is expanding to share their well-crafted and authentic Mediterranean cuisine.

The team at AXO designed this space as a modern classic, bringing life to a grey shell space in the new Uptown Apartments complex, a humble testament to metropolitan growth and cultural vitality.

Our clean, functional design features a bold interior, utilizing raw materials, a custom furniture package, branded signage, butcher-block style wood counters and sales wraps, coated metal surfaces and translucent wall paneling to connect the experience of the cuisine to the modernizing character of the neighborhood.
